Acer davidii (Snake Bark Maple)

Pere David's Maple. Native to China and originally discovered by Pere Armand David, a missionary worker turned plant collector. Small deciduous tree with a fine spreading crown of long, arching branches. Dark, glossy foliage turning vivid orange and yellow in autumn. Beautiful striped green and white bark for winter interest. Stunning specimen tree for the medium sized garden.
