Cotinus coggygria 'Royal Purple'

This highly acclaimed variety of Smoke Bush has whorls of dramatic deep pink/ purple foliage in vivid shades which are almost iridescent and will actually appear to glow if planted in a position where the sun can back-light it. Frothy, feathery plumes of soft pink flowers fading to silver grey form a smoky haze above the foliage in mid - late summer. Fully hardy and will do best in fertile well drained soil preferring a sunny sheltered spot. can grow up to 5m but easily trimmed to required size and shape.
