Damson 'German Prune'

One of the oldest damson varieties still in cultivation and known in Britain since at least the 1600's and said by some to have been introduced to Northern Europe by the Romans. Large, vigorous and robust trees with a good yield and resistance to disease. Fully hardy and self-fertile. Produces a good crop of small purplish black fruit which are firm, sweet and juicy with a very pleasant flavour. Max 3.5m.
