Ornamental Flowering Cherry. The most popular and well known of all the flowering cherries. Originated in Japan and introduced to Britain in the Edwardian era. A tough, sturdy and vigorous deciduous tree with stiff ascending branches, laden with masses of very showy purple/ pink double blossoms in huge clusters in spring. fully hardy and suitable for most soil types. 6m x 4m after 20yrs.
