Dawn Redwood. A fast growing, deciduous conifer native to China and regarded as a living fossil. A relic of prehistoric times and believed until fairly recently to be extinct and known to us only by fossils, this species was discovered alive and well in China in 1944, making it one of the most exciting finds ever in the plant world. Its delicate, feathery foliage is bright green in summer and a truly stunning bronze/ coppery pink in autumn. A large specimen suitable for parkland planting.
